The Parisian Vie en Rouge

In the heart of Paris, a small studio stands as an architectural poem, where every detail dances to the rhythm of passionate and decisive shades of red.

At the entrance, a spacious square-shaped area welcomes with light colors and wooden profiles, serving as a large wardrobe supporting both function and a library. The entrance doors, in harmony with the style of the cabinets, promise a complete immersion into the environment.

Once beyond the threshold into the living area, an unexpected panorama unfolds before the observer. Soft shapes and vibrant colors paint the picture, with an essential kitchen reflecting in a glossy, gray-shaped door, providing access to a clean and geometric bathroom. Wall-mounted cabinets, invisible behind a mirror, reveal the ingenious utilization of space.

The curves of the kitchen and bathroom door gracefully align with a rounded black iron table, embracing the pillar on two sides while remaining airy and light. The living area, with red cabinets and pink interiors, harmoniously merges with textured gray walls on a floor with rosy tones, interrupted by a full-height curtain in dusty blue.

This curtain, like a stage curtain, divides a hybrid environment that combines the living and sleeping areas, characterized by a long niche sofa, a comfortable and tranquil refuge. Pull-out low drawers and upper cabinets with folding doors, a subtle nod to concealed organization, create visual harmony. The contrast of an indigo blue sofa, transformable into a bed, complements the satin steel element, resembling a shield amid a carpet of roses, providing a distinctive textural contrast to the room. Closing the curtain transforms the sleeping area into an intimate and obscured space, offering an atmosphere of total privacy.

Experience La Vie en Rouge – the life in red – of this Parisian studio, where design melds with emotion, creating a visually and sensorially unique experience, a space infused with passion and creativity.

Contemporary pop with industrial elements

A fresh and contemporary apartment around which an industrial architectural context has been recreated, characterized by visual structures in metal and crystal.

Project: Modulor
Year: 2014
Site: Villa di Serio

A very recent apartment overlooking the hills of Scanzorosciate is part of a contemporary housing complex characterized by an architecture that plays on staggered floors. Hence the idea of also moving its interior. This project was followed by the initial construction site and it was precisely in that phase that it was decided to give light to the living area by opening a portion of the slab to make it one with the upper attic part. The entrance, which has a subtle and spotlight false ceiling, gives a wide breath to the house, which looks like an open space. A beautiful aerial staircase with an iron structure painted in anthracite gray and polished steel handrails guides the gaze towards the upper part of the apartment: the study-library that overlooking the living room. In order to create a continuation of materials, the staircase connects to a small balcony in painted iron and crystal, which lets the light beams filter from the velux above through to the corner sofa downstair.

These industrial elements matches with a furniture with clean strokes features, almost essential, characterized by a suspended office cabinet and a low and containing TV cabinet in light gray tones. The walls and the brightly colored walls stand out chromatically.
Concerning the livingroom, it’s the orange to be chosen, a colour that expresses vitality, dynamism and expansion. The Space Branch modular system of shelves above the television is also lacquered in orange with a contemporary appearance.

The total white kitchen express its essential nature with a Corian countertop, which merge into the sink basins and the laser-engraved drainer. The lacquering of the columns, the lower part, the wall units and the glossy lacobel on the back provide more brightness. In contrasting colours, the ion hood, the hob and the Smeg ovens are completely black. An essential room which distinctive elements are recognizable for their pop style, such as the Omelette table, that stands out provinding an extra creative touch. The floors are also interesting, where oak parquet rugs are interspersed with medium gray stoneware, which also enters the bathrooms. These are characterized by tiles from the Tex collection by Mutina laid on design. In the master bathroom the suspended medium gray lacquered main cabinet has a thin white Corian top that moves on two floors and two different depths. Towards the entrance, it in fact  becomes lower and less deep. In the upper part, beside a large mirror, there are closed and open cubes lacquered in white and gray. In the service bathroom there is a small white shaped cabinet with side drawer, also with a very thin Corian cover. The laundry niche in the corridor is very functional, hidden by symmetrically woven doors that hide the opening from view.

The bedroom is characterized by an acid green background, an harmonious color symbol of growth, renewal and hope, which perfectly fits with bedside tables, chest of drawers and a white lacquered front wardrobe. To conclude, the study area in the attic where two tables with anthracite gray painted iron structure match both the structure of stairs and balcony and that of the shoulders of the wall bookcase, in the same color. On the other hand, the shelves and the two pieces of furniture on the ridge side, shaped flush with the ceiling, are white. A touch of color in the chairs and in the textured red sofa bed available for guests.

An industrial loft with a pop taste

In the context of industrial archeology known at a regional level, this small-sized loft rediscovers its pop soul. Colourful and young furniture give freshness in an apartment spread on two levels.

Project: Modulor
Year: 2012
Site: Alzano Lombardo

One of the most famous example of industrial archeology in the whole region, the former cement factory of Alzano Lombardo still offers suggestive landscapes and a unique context in its own style. Following the recent renovation, the Moorish-style building from the end of the 19th century houses offices, shops and lofts. The latter maintain the architectural structure of the industrial building with large windows capable of providing natural lighting to the entire internal apartment. Compared to the internal subdivision, several lofts with variable dimensions dovetail each other to take advantage of the large external view and spread on two levels.

This small industrial loft also responds to the same architectural configuration with the main floor with the living area and a mezzanine level holding the sleeping area. Characterized by bright colors and youthful furniture, these interiors rediscover their pop soul, making the most of the small size of the space. A combination of industrial style on an architectural level and a pop imprint of the interiors that materializes in the Omelette table and TV cabinet in Mdf lacquer in orange and the bedroom’s wardrobe lacquered in green. The neutral-colored gray kitchen accompanies the other white-toned furnishings of the living area, to give the room greater brightness and breath.
